Our current featured artist is Chris Newman. Since picking up the guitar and performing in the 70’s Chris has leant towards the Blues. Influenced by Blind Blake, Rev Gary Davis and Big Bill Broonzy he ventured into the Folk and Blues scene with his Ragtime and Blues where he continued to learn his trade.
Chris has become respected as a guitarist and has worked alongside some formidable Artistes due to his growing reputation. Throughout the mid 80’s he worked with ‘The John Slaughter Blues Band till a Solo support spot with ‘The Climax Blues Band created a more substantial role in Colin Coopers (Vocalist With The Climax) new venture ‘Mississippi Houndogs His own Album ‘A tribute to Rory Gallagher on Redball Records is a fine example of a great talent.
